Welcome to Gaby's Personal Page
Ending Duchenne is personal.
Both my brother and my son were diagnosed with Becker Muscular Dystrophy - a genetic disorder that gradually makes the body's muscles weaker and smaller.
Finding a cure for my brother was unfortunately not possible, but hope still remains for my 5 year old son, who is truly in a race against time as his muscles deteriorate further each day.
Although less severe than Duchenne, Becker is still a degenerative disease primarily affecting voluntary muscles.
To date, there is no cure or treatment to stop the progression of Duchenne or Becker.
To help raise awareness and funds for the fight to end Duchenne, I will be running with the Race to End Duchenne team at the 2019 Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Marathon on November 17, 2019. I've never run a half marathon before, but I wanted to challenge myself and raise awareness about muscular dystrophy.
Your donations will go to help fund research needed to find a cure for my son and all boys affected by this disease.
Together, we will go the distance to end Duchenne.
If you prefer, you may also mail a check, payable to Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, to:
