Welcome to My Personal Page
My son, Tommy, has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, the most common fatal genetic disorder among children. Those with Duchenne are truly in a race against time as their muscles deteriorate further each day. To date, there is no cure.
Despite his overwhelming obstacles, Tommy has refused to let his disability define him. This is a picture of him winning the gold medal and championship trophy for his sled hockey team this season. He is in the 5th grade at school and is a Student Council Class Representative, plays the trumpet and sings in chorus. Outside of school, he is about to be promoted from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts; and takes piano lessons, in addition to playing on the Buffalo Sabres Junior sled hockey team. Tommy wants to raise money to find a cure for Duchenne, because he doesn't want to be disabled anymore. He wants nothing more than to be like his friends and play more competitive sports.
if Tommy won't quit, we won't either. I have signed up to run a 10K with the Race to End Duchenne team at the 2020 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend in January. I am joining the fight to end Duchenne and I hope you will support me.
There is hope for Tommy and all of the children like him. There is YOU. Please help us put an end to the devastating disorder by making a donation and supporting my race.
