Running for T.J.
This fall I will be running the Go Commando Half Marathon. I wanted to run it for T.J. who recently came into our family's life.
He lives with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and is a nine year old soldier triumphing over adversity. I wanted this run to be more than a medal or an accomplishment for me. Seeing as T.J. loves everything Army, it seemed appropriate to be inspired by him to complete this race.
And thus I would love sponsors to help in the fight to end Duchenne and give more pep in the step of those who have fought bravely every day to live life without hesitation. I am asking for thoughts, prayers for T.J.'s family as they continue to uplift each other as they deal with the realities of Duchenne. I also ask for financial support in T.J.'s honor-all donations go to the Parent Project Mucular Dystrophy.
The race is on Oct 19th. I would love to say we raised $900 in support of T.J. and his family. (One hundred dollars for each of his birthdays.) He is a nine year old who has taught us a lot about persistance and being happy with your life.
Thank you for the support!
